Course Description:
Communication Skills focuses on the fundamentals of communication in the workplace. Attendees will learn about verbal and written communication and discuss the most effective applications for each. The session will include interactive activities to enhance verbal communication skills and provide concrete examples of effective and ineffective written communication.
Learning Objectives:
- Define expectations for effective and professional communication at work and identify common barriers that prevent it from happening
- Discuss strategies to improve verbal and nonverbal communication
- Establish means and methods for effective communication
- Demonstrate standard communication protocols when interacting with patients, visitors, and customers
- Discuss when a meeting is needed and most effective
