Course Description:
Life Safety Drawings 101 demonstrates how to locate and access life safety drawings specific to a given facility. Participants will learn what information is communicated on these drawings and what items are required by CMS and its accrediting organizations. This course teaches how to read and understand various symbols, markers, and other indicators on life safety drawings plus key terms and components related to life safety and the definition of each one.
Learning Objectives:
- List items required on life safety drawings by NFPA 101 (2012) and the appropriate accrediting organization
- Read and interpret life safety drawings, including the legend, color coding, hatching, line type, passive life safety components, and other information
- Locate life safety plans for the respective facility
