    Course Description:

    The Fire Alarm Operations module is designed to include all employees and specifically addresses job competencies for electricians, safety personnel, and operating engineers. The Fire Alarm Operations 101 course provides an overview of preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting scenarios associated with fire alarm systems. The course gives participants to identify various system components and the function of each component.

     

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Describe fire alarm components and overall system operation
    2. Review procedures for operating and maintaining system components
    3. Describe best practices for troubleshooting common scenarios, including ground faults, faulty smoke detectors, and pull stations
    4. Demonstrate the process for resetting the panel and disarming a device and/or zone

      Some good so bad.

      A bi-metal switch is unequal expansion of metals, melting is the old lead type of sprinkler heads. Shorts and grounds are not the same!!!! Groundes go to ground, shorts are just that, the electricity takes a shorter than designed path back to the neutral. Troubleshooting 101.
