ASHRAE was formerly referred to as The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Now, they are formally known simply by their acronym: ASHRAE (pronounced ash-ray).
ASHRAE’s goal is to continually improve the design, construction, and performance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
ASHRAE publishes various standards, like ASHRAE 170: Ventilation of Health Care Facilities.
