Pusher vs Puller

I’ve been managing people for over 15 years now, and I’m still learning how to be a better leader every day. Fortunately, my team gives me the grace to make mistakes and grow from them. For example, a few years ago, I learned about pushers and pullers. No, I’m not talking about doors!

Some people need to be pushed toward a goal, and some people need to be pulled. I made the mistake of not realizing that I had a puller on my team, and I was at a loss when I couldn’t figure out how to motivate him. Fortunately, my boss at the time gave me some great advice that I still practice today.

Check out my story and lesson learned in my latest video. I must’ve been feeling chatty because this is a long one! As always, let me know what has worked for you when it comes to motivating your team to achieve their own goals. I’d also love to know which one are you – a pusher or a puller? I’m team pusher (or nudger) all the way 🙂

Thanks, ya’ll.
